From 27th of April to 3rd of May 2015 Dresden, Germany, will become a hotspot for advanced, adventurous music and related arts as it welcomes the closing event of the festival. This festival of festivals is organized by nine partner organizations from Europe, and in close collaboration with the ICAS – International Cities of Advanced Sound network. This festive summit consists of a week-long platform for discussions of visions and current developments in music and the arts, as well as for presentation of artworks commissioned within the project”s framework.

Furthermore, the closing of this ECAS chapter will also be used as a milestone to launch the new project: SHAPE-Sound, Heterogeneous Art and Performance in Europe – a 3-year initiative co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union that reunites 16 European non-profit organisations active within the ICAS network. This platform aims to support, promote, and exchange innovative and aspiring musicians and interdisciplinary artists with an interest in sound. SHAPE attempts to present a variety of idiosyncratic sounds from Europe, and to provide audiences and professionals with insightful lectures, talks, and workshops by experts in various fields related to sound and performance. Partners from the entire ICAS network will also contribute to the event in Dresden, adding influences from North and South America and beyond.
